The best versions of books are generally those in their original language, so if you're reading a lot of American books, then... that's good. From what I've seen, the library has most, if not all of its books in English, so it must be heaven for you.

For some reason I just can't enjoy a book written in English as much as I can the same book written in Japanese.

Mostly comfortable. There are things I don't like... specifically, the Japanese mindset about personal problems versus problems concerning others.
